Where to find Canadian swim meet information

One competition can publish its documents in several places at once. Knowing which document comes from where saves a lot of searching on meet weekend.

Last reviewed . Official sources can change after that date, so open each one before relying on it.

Key answer

Start from the meet's own event page or meet package, then follow the links its organizer publishes. The calendar entry, psych sheet, heat sheet and results for one meet are often on different sites.

Which document is which

  • Calendar entry. A listing that the meet exists, with its dates and host. It points to the meet; it is not the rules.
  • Event page. The organizer’s own page for the meet, usually where the other documents are linked.
  • Meet package. The rules for that competition: eligibility, qualifying standards, entry deadlines, fees and the session schedule.
  • Psych sheet. The entry list for each event ranked by entry time, usually published after entries close.
  • Heat sheet. The seeded heats and lanes, usually published shortly before the session.
  • Live results. Results posted during the meet, which can change until they are confirmed.
  • Final results. The confirmed results after the meet, often published as a separate document or on a results site.

Why they are in different places

One competition’s documents can be split across Swimming Canada, a provincial organization, the host club, a results subdomain and a meet-management platform. The calendar entry may be on one site, the meet package on the host club’s site and live results on a results platform.

Follow the links the organizer publishes rather than the first search result, which may be an earlier year’s edition of the same meet.

Where to start

For national and sanctioned competitions, Swimming Canada’s upcoming meets list links onward to each meet. For past competitions, its meet results hub links to published results. Provincial organizations and host clubs publish their own meets as well.
