Delete your Swim Sonar account

Last updated 6 October 2026

Swim Sonar is the swim-results app made by Bellwoods Labs Inc.

You can delete your Swim Sonar account yourself, at any time, without asking anyone.

From inside the app

Open Swim Sonar and sign in, then go to You › Delete account. It takes effect immediately. This is the fastest way and it needs nothing from us.

to request deletion. Enter the email address of the account you want deleted and tell us you cannot sign in. We will verify that the account is yours before deleting anything, because otherwise anybody could close somebody else’s account.

What is deleted

Your login, your profile and display name, the swimmers you follow, the record of which swimmer you are, and the log of failed date-of-birth attempts. Deleted data is purged from our backups within 30 days.

What is kept

Your club’s records stay with your club. A swimmer’s roster entry and their race results came from the club, belong to the club, and would exist if Swim Sonar had never been written. Deleting your Swim Sonar account does not remove them. If you want a race result or a roster entry corrected or removed, ask your club — they can ask us, and we act on it.

We also keep two records with your email address removed from them: your club’s record that it once listed an address, and the de-identified record that a parent approved a swimmer’s account. Neither identifies you once your address is gone, and they exist so a club can answer that it listed somebody who has since left, and so an audit of consent is still possible.

The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
